Fall Finals 24/3 – Three Times the Fun!

Fall finals may not be fun for everyone, but Lupton Library tried to make the week more bearable by providing students a safe, quiet study environment for three days of around the clock service during finals. With coffee on tap and a security guard at the door throughout the late night hours, library staff and student employees kept the doors open from 7:50a.m. Tuesday, December 4th until 5:30p.m Friday, December 7th. This semester Student Development joined the effort by holding their Study Marathon in the library. They offered free water and “grab and go” snacks to encourage students to dig in for finals study.
Many students took advantage of the extended finals hours last Spring semester, but late night/early morning attendance grew significantly this term. Statistics show almost three times as many students settled in and studied during the wee hours this semester. As 3 a.m. rolled by each night over 100 studious individuals were in the library—a number we hope will increase each semester as word of the extended hours spreads!
